what we do | Sugarloaf Lions Club, Greystones and North Wicklow
Sugarloaf Lions Club, a volunteer run charity, hold a large number of Fundraising events and service activities in the North East Wicklow area to help the local community. Here we share a selection of our activities and a more complete list of our recent work. For more information on each of these please read below and if you need any more information please contact us.
Christmas Food Appeal
In December each year members of Sugarloaf Lions club collect food and cash donations in supermarkets in Greystones and the wider area. Local schools also collect hampers for our appeal. Our team distributes food hampers, supermarket vouchers and fuel to local families and individuals in need in the run up to Christmas Day. Any funds remaining are used for the same purpose in the New Year. We expect to help in excess of 150 families every Christmas season.
Golf Classic
Every summer SLC holds a golf classic in Greystones Golf Club raising valuable funds for local charities.
Message in a bottle
SLC provides message in a bottle packs to local medical practices, golf clubs and support groups.
Table Quiz
Table quiz held twice annually in Greystones Rugby Club. A fun evening with proceeds to local charities such as Open Door, RNLI, Tiglin and Childhood Cancer Ireland
Annual Summer Garden Party
Summer Garden Party with entertainment, BBQ and guaranteed sunshine held in aid of St Catherine’s Special School, Newcastle and CALI (Care and Learning Ireland).
